What is Peppol?

Peppol (Pan-European Public Procurement Online) is a global network that facilitates secure and efficient electronic invoicing between businesses and government agencies. By using a Peppol-certified service provider like Comarch, companies can ensure that their e-invoices comply with Peppol standards and can be easily exchanged with any other Peppol-connected business worldwide.

Malaysia’s E-invoicing Mandate

The Malaysian government is planning to introduce a mandatory e-invoicing mandate in the near future. Here’s the schedule for the pre-clearance e-invoicing system:

  • August 1, 2024: Taxpayers with an annual turnover exceeding MYR 100 million
  • January 1, 2025: Taxpayers with an annual turnover between MYR 25 million and MYR 100 million
  • July 1, 2025: All other taxpayers

Businesses using a Peppol service provider like Comarch can rest assured that they are ready to comply with the mandate when it comes into effect.
