Belgian B2B e-Invoicing 2026 Mandate Confirmed

On February 20th, 2024, the Belgian legislation mandating B2B e-invoicing was officially published in a public gazette. This is a final step to confirming the mandate’s January 1st, 2026, introduction deadline.

Contrary to most countries, the Belgian B2B mandate will be introduced in a single phase in January 2026. There are no separate scope thresholds for different categories or sizes of companies. However, the effective implementation of this mandate still depends on whether Belgium obtains an EU VAT Directive derogation. The country applied for such a decision in October 2023.
