Telefónica appoints Comarch a partner in its multi-country OSS transformation
Comarch has been selected by Telefónica for a position of the European OSS Fulfillment and Planning systems vendor. Comarch will deliver Next Generation OSS licenses as well as comprehensive transformation services, and long-term support for Telefónica in the network planning and optimization domains. Having a strong reference earned from an implementation for Telefónica Deutschland, Comarch has signed its first multi-country contract with Telefónica, via its global operating business unit (Telefónica Global Resources), based in Madrid.
Comarch’s future-proof resource planning and service fulfillment solution will bring a number of benefits for Telefónica: improving efficiency of network operations and management of shared networks, as a result, enabling real-time service provisioning to the highest quality for its customers.
This is part of the challenge that Telefónica is facing regarding OSS/BSS transformation, a step towards “system light” operations, shortening time-to-market and allowing global, replicable products and services without hard customizations, thus reducing integration costs and efforts. Using partnership with the industry’s leading vendors, such as Comarch, Telefónica can leverage the transformation of operations, improving quality and efficiency.
- We greatly appreciate the flexibility of Comarch’s solutions that are tailored to fit our specific requirements. The company’s understanding of telecom business, combined with the commitment and domain knowledge of its specialists, convinced us that by partnering with them we can successfully face the challenges of the OSS transformation project we have planned, which is why we decided to select Comarch for long-term cooperation, says Juan Manuel Caro Bernat, Director of Operations & OSS at Telefónica S.A.
- At Comarch we know exactly how to partner with operators in the area of complex system transformations, and how to ensure smooth transition, that is in line with ongoing business operations. In addition to that, we strongly believe that our OSS solutions will enable Telefónica S.A. to realize two important business goals – optimizing costs and improving efficiency, says Piotr Piatosa, Vice President and Head of the Telecommunications Business Unit at Comarch.
The contract will include a number of Comarch Next Generation OSS components, well-suited for fully convergent networks, and covering the following Telemanagement Forum’s Telecommunication Application Map (TAM) areas: Planning (Radio Access Network), Activation, Catalog, Service Order Manager, Resource Order Manager, Service Inventory, Resource Inventory, Resource Discovery and Data Synchronization and Fulfillment for Resource and Service Layers. Comarch’s Next Generation Network Planning and Next Generation Service Fulfillment will be the core solutions implemented within the project.
