Processes of Electronic Data Interchange in E-commerce
Ugo Fabio Paolillo, SAP Specialist of La Doria, and Francesco Novembri, Sales Director Comarch Italia
La Doria is an Italian leading food & beverage group, producer of tomato-based products, pasta sauces, canned vegetables and fruit juices, especially for private labels.
The company is a major supplier to large supermarket chains both in Italy and abroad, and is specialised in the “private label” sector - the supermarket’s brands.
In addition to private labels, the Group also produces under the La Doria brand, which has been on the market for about 60 years.
In the short term, we now want to focus on our suppliers, who haven't yet adopted EDI. For that, we would like to use two technologies: EDI for those who can afford it, and a portal that can be used by suppliers who currently do not have the economic capacity to cope with EDI, and small warehouses, so we can track the transfers that take place among us and them".
With Comarch, the collaboration is aimed both toward the
customer and the provider. We are currently establishing EDI solutions
and a new portal to be set up in the future".
